NEW Quilt Labels

Every item you create with your hands is a labor of love and is uniquely given from your heart.

Why not stitch a label inside a totebag, inside the back of a sweatshirt or quilted jacket, and of course, on the back of a quilt? It's a great way to personalize a gift for that special someone in your life, or simply to document your heartfelt work.

Each quilt label is 6"x6" and from a collection of my original artwork. They are printed on 100% quilter's cotton with eco-friendly permanent dyes.

Visit www.sisterhoodofquilters.com to purchase the quilt labels and to see our other unique fabrics, patterns, and gifts.

New Collection is Here

I am so excited about the arrival of my first fabric collection with Connecting Threads!

My artwork has been reproduced so well; the colors are vibrant and my shading and highlights turned out perfect! This collection pays homage to family and is called Circle of Family. The fabric designs feature intricate floral elements, pin dot, checkerboard, and pinwheel prints.

Fabric by the yard is available at sisterhoodofquilters.com, as well as fabric art panels and patterns and kits for Family Tree banners and wall hangings.

I'm including a link to a PDF of excerpts about my collection from Connecting Threads' catalog. Good Job Connecting Threads - it's great!

My first fabric collection by Connecting Threads

My first fabric collection by Connecting Threads is arriving mid-June!

Don't miss the art panel project I've created with these fabrics to honor the love of family – a wall hanging to enhance your hallway where many homes exhibit the Family Photo Gallery.

I've designed two patterns for the art panel. One is designed to print 4 generations of family names for a stylized Family Tree, a perfect gift for a new and growing family. Children's names are created on their own attached banners below the main wall hanging.

Several other projects have also been designed using my fabric collection. Enjoy a sneak peak at my friend Dodi Poulsen's project (shown here). I love it!

Sign up at: www.ConnectingThreads.com/CircleofFamily to have an alert sent to your email when the collection has arrived.

Lecture and Totebag Workshop Opportunity!

I've discovered how much I enjoy giving workshops and lectures.

Oregon's Umpqua Valley Quilt Guild was a great example (photo shown here). My lecture was entitled "How Artwork Becomes Fabric," and I gave a workshop on how to make my totebag design with art panel pockets.

We had so much fun, and everyone took home a finished totebag! My unique process and special 3-D leaves gives the bag an "artsy" look (Yet is very easy).

I received comments like, "This was the best lecture we have ever had!" Wow, what a statement! The ladies were GREAT. We definitely expanded the Sisterhood of Quilters that day!

Contact me at jodyhoughton@msn.com for details on scheduling your guild for a lecture and/or workshop.
